Delete an Existing Standing Committee From the Program

Standing committees can be deleted from the "Edit Committee" window accessed from the User & Group Management page. Please note that you can only delete committees that are not in use. If you try to delete a committee that is in use, the option to delete will not appear in the "Edit Committee" window. in that case, you must first remove the committee from any template or case where it has been added as a review step.

Log in to Interfolio and navigate to your institutional account

You may need to open the account switcher in the right hand user menu and select to switch to your institutional account.

Select "Users and Groups" under the Review, Promotion & Tenure section of the left hand navigation menu

On your Promotion & Tenure dashboard, click "Manage," and select "Users and Groups" from the dropdown menu

Click the "Committees" tab

Click the "Committees" tab

Locate the committee you want to edit and click the edit pencil

Locate the committee you want to edit and click the edit pencil

Edit the committee

From the "Edit Committee" screen you can...

  1. Edit the committee name or unit
  2. Add or remove committee members, or appoint a Committee Manager
  3. Delete the committee

Note: The option to delete the committee will only appear if the committee is not in use

Click the "Delete" at the bottom left of the window

If the committee is associated with active cases, you will see a message that it cannot be deleted a this time

You must first remove the committee from any case or template where it is used before deleting it. See these article for more information on how to edit a template, and how to edit the review steps for a case.

If the committee is associated with active cases, it cannot be deleted and the trash icon will be greyed out
