Vita: Currency for Grant Funding

The Currency in the Funding section is now displaying correctly on vitae. For institutions in the United States, the currency now displays as USD. For institutions in Canada, the currency now displays as CAD.

  1. On the Faculty menu, click Vitas & Biosketches.
  2. Select the desired vita.

Upload Form: Unit External IDs 

Parent Unit External IDs and Unit External IDs can now be uploaded using the Upload Form. This allows unique IDs to be associated with units. Previously, only the unit abbreviation could be used to identify organizational units. If a unit external ID is uploaded, this takes precedence over the unit abbreviation. Otherwise, the unit abbreviation will be used.

To upload Parent Unit External IDs and Unit External IDs, do the following:

  1. On the Admin menu, click Setup.
  2. Click Upload Form in the Configuration section. The Upload Form screen displays.
  3. In the Upload list, click Units.
  4. Specify if the Parent Unit External ID and/or the Unit External ID should be uploaded.

Unit Administrator Rights: Emulate Faculty Users

Users with administrative rights now have the ability to emulate faculty users. Administrators now have the ability to specify for each unit if unit administrators can emulate faculty.

To specify if unit administrators can emulate faculty, do the following:

  1. On the Admin menu, click Setup.
  2. Click Organizational Structure in the School section. The Organizational Structure screen displays.
  3. Click the Edit icon for the desired unit. The Edit Unit screen displays.
  4. In the Administrative Rights section, specify the settings for the Emulate Users option. Available options are No Access GrantedAllow Access Only, and Allow Access & Allow to Grant Access.

Upload Form: Secondary Unit Assignments

Secondary Unit Assignments can now be uploaded using the Upload Form. All unit assignments that are not primary unit assignments are considered a secondary unit assignment

 

To add a secondary unit assignment for a faculty member, do the following

  1. On the Admin menu, click Administration.
  2. Click Faculty in the Add/Edit section.
  3. Select the faculty member to be edited.
  4. In the Secondary Unit Assignments section, click Add.
  5. Select a unit to add, then click OK.
  6. When you are finished, save the information.

Courses Taught Report: Display Unique Sections

The Courses Taught Report now contains a Unique Sections option for displaying unique sections for courses that are team-taught. Currently, when Courses Taught are uploaded using the Upload Form, courses that are team-taught are uploaded for each faculty member, and all sections display in the Courses Taught Report. If the Unique Sections option is selected, only one section for a team-taught course is included in the Courses Taught Report, preventing duplicate data.

To view the Courses Taught Report, do the following:

  1. On the Admin menu, click Reports.
  2. Click Courses Taught in the Activity Reports section. 
  3. Select report options using the filters.
  4. Click Refresh Report.
  5. In the Unique Sections list, select Yes or No.
  6. Click Refresh Report.

Scholarly Citations Report: Display Activity Classifications

The Scholarly Citations Report now contains an option for displaying activity classifications for citations.

To view the Scholarly Citations Report, do the following:

  1. On the Admin menu, click Reports.
  2. Click Scholarly Citations in the Administrative Reports section. 
  3. In the Display Activity Classifications section, specify the activity classifications to display. To select multiple activity classifications, hold Ctrl and click the desired activity classifications.
  4. Click Refresh Report.

Activity Classifications: Exclude Units

Units can now be excluded from selected activity classifications. As a result, faculty members now only have access to activity classifications for the units they are assigned to.

To exclude a unit from an activity classification, do the following:

  1. On the Admin menu, click Setup.
  2. Click Activity Classifications in the Customize section.
  3. Select the appropriate unit.
  4. Select the desired unit/activity classification or add a new activity classification.
  5. In the General Information section, click the Exclude These Units link.
  6. Select the check boxes for the units to be excluded from the activity classification.
  7. When you are finished, save the information.
