About Merging Accounts

You may end up with multiple Interfolio accounts in a variety of ways, such as: while working at an institution(s), applying to various positions, as well as being a letter writer. This tool has been designed to let users self-merge their multiple accounts.

If you do not know the password for your other account, rest assured that your personal Dossier will not be divulged to any associated institutions.

Our account merger has been designed to automatically take the info that is important to you and bring them into one account.

Retrieve Password and Account while Merging

You will have to reset your password using reset password tool on the account.interfolio.com login page. For more information click here.

What is kept and what is lost during an account merge?
Data Kept from Primary Account (The account where the merge is initiated)
  1. Name
  2. Profile Information (pos, org, title, etc.)
  3. Notification Email (Note: All account email addresses are merged into one account)
  4. Address
  5. Education Info
  6. Communication Preferences
  7. Affiliations
  8. Id Numbers
Interfolio will keep the most important data from your Primary OR Secondary account during the merge process.

Note: If the primary account has a blank address field (does NOT have an address), but the secondary account DOES have an address, we will update the address on the primary account to match the address on the secondary account when the accounts are merged.

Data kept From Faculty180
  1. If only one account has F180, all of the F180 permissions and information will be maintained on the kept account
  2. If both accounts have F180:
    1. It may take a day or two for your account to be merged.
    2. A engineering ticket is auto-created at end of merge process, and the our team will investigate the best course of action to merge the info.
Why can't certain accounts be merged, such as standard receiver?

Unfortunately, due to being tied to an institutional account, 'Dossier Admin' and 'Standard Receiver' accounts cannot be merged.
