Case Creation Improvements

What's changing?

  • When an Institutional Administrator in Review, Promotion & Tenure clicks to create a case, they will see 3 creation steps for the cases they are creating:
    • Select Candidate
    • Select Template
    • view Review & Settings
  • On their Case List, these users can select Candidate(s) to create cases for.
  • When viewing their Case List, Institutional Administrators in RPT can click to create a case, and when they type in a name of a candidate that doesn’t exist, then a Create User option in the drop-down will bring the to the Users & Groups page.
  • When the user selects 1 candidate and clicks to continue, they will see a custom case option on their Select Template list.
  • When the user selects less than 1 candidate and clicks to continue, they do not see a custom case option on their Select Template list.
  • On step 2 of case creation, when the Admin selects a unit for case(s) then the Select Template list shows templates available to their unit and above based on their Admin permissions.
  • If you are creating a case for a single candidate, you will proceed through the case creation steps and can then edit the case once it is created via your case list. Before, you could edit a single case during the creation process, but now you have to do it after.

Background

As part of moving toward a unified experience for users of our Faculty Information Systems, we have modernized the case creation flow in Review, Promotion & Tenure while maintaining the single case creation flow across our FIS. An important part of this initiative is to ensure our case creation flow meets accessibility standards.

Who does this impact?

These improvements will impact users who are responsible for managing faculty journeys in Lifecycle Management and creating cases in Review, Promotion & Tenure.

  • RPT Institutional Admins
  • Unit Admins in RPT who are responsible for creating cases in RPT
  • Case Managers in RPT who are responsible for creating cases in RPT
