Autogenerate Vitas From Institutional Vita Templates
When creating or editing an institutional vita template, Institutional Administrators in Faculty Activity Reporting (FAR) can indicate that a published vita should be shared with faculty in a given unit. Shared vitas will automatically appear as a link on the list of institutional vitas to which the faculty have access. Faculty can then access, share and export the autogenerated vita.
Please note that right now, this feature is only available for institutional vita templates, and it does not support creating versions of a vita.
Autogenerate Vita
Administrators: Share/Unshare Published Vita
- Navigate to the Setup page and click Institutional Vita Templates under the ‘Configuration’ section.
- On the Institutional Vita Template page, note the Show on Vitas Page column of the list of institutional vita templates.
Institutional vita templates that have the Status ‘Published,’ when Show on Vitas Page is set to ‘Yes’ will automatically appear on the faculty vita list for faculty who have access to the vita.
- To change this setting, click the hyperlinked Template Name in the list, then click the Edit Template dropdown and select Edit Template Settings.
- The Edit Template Settings window will appear on the right-hand side. Scroll to the bottom of the window and enable (or disable) the option “When published, show on Faculty's Institutional Vitas Page."
If you select Show to Faculty, this institutional vita template will automatically be visible on the faculty vita list without requiring faculty to search for it. Note that faculty will still be able to search for and add vitas manually even if this vita is not set to show on their vitas page.
- Click Apply Changes when finished to save the selected template settings.
Faculty: Access Automatically Generated Vita
Faculty can access, share, and export vitas that are automatically generated from the institutional vita templates that have been shared with them by administrators. The autogenerated vita will simply appear in the list of institutional vitas available to them.
Vitas shared by your unit’s administrators may update automatically. To keep your own version or add custom text, make a copy of the automatically generated vita.
