Manage a Break in Service
A break in service may occur when a faculty member steps away from their position. If the faculty member will remain in the same Series upon their return, their Professional Journey may be restarted by creating a record of their separation then restarting their appointment.
End Contract Expiration
1. Navigate to the desired faculty appointment under Faculty
- Click Faculty on the navigation menu.
- Click the desired Faculty Name.
- Click the desired Appointment Name under the Appointment Information section.
2. Edit Expiration Date
- Click Edit at the bottom of the drawer that displays.
- Adjust the Contract Expiration Date to end the contract for the current appointment.
Upload the Appointment File
1. Navigate to Load Data under Administration
- Click Administration on the navigation menu.
- Click the Load Data tile.
2. Upload Appointments
- Click the +New Upload button in the upper right-hand corner.
- Select Appointments as the Type of item you want to upload.
- Ensure the checkbox adjacent to Update existing "Appointments” items is NOT selected.
Note the contract start date must be later than the end date for the initial appointment.
- Fill out the information.
- Scroll to the bottom and click the Continue & Process button when finished.
