Release Notes: September 16, 2026
This week’s release includes enhancements and fixes across Faculty Search (FS), Lifecycle Management (LM), Faculty Activity Reporting (FAR), Dossier, and the Interfolio Data Service (IDS). In FS, we improved public job board efficiency by reusing unit metadata during requests, reducing infrastructure impact from high-volume automated traffic without changing job board results. In LM, we fixed Profile List date filtering so results accurately reflect the selected event types, statuses, and date ranges. In FAR, ORCID publication imports now include co-authors in the order provided by ORCID, and in Dossier, we fixed access to My Contacts.
Faculty Search
- Enhancement: We improved the efficiency of FS public job boards by reducing repeated retrieval of unit information during requests. Job board results and response content remain unchanged, while unit metadata is reused for subsequent requests. This helps reduce infrastructure impact from high-volume automated requests but does not authorize or prevent scraping. As a reminder, automated scraping, extraction, or continuous downloading of Elsevier service content is not permitted under Elsevier’s Website Terms and Conditions, unless otherwise authorized by an applicable agreement.

FS Refreshed Position Show Experience: We are modernizing the applicant review experience in FS with a redesigned 'Position Show' page that delivers faster performance and new capabilities such as the ability to:
- Select applicants across multiple pages and take bulk actions (including status changes, archiving, tagging, and emailing) on your full selection at once.
- Search and filter applicants using a redesigned filter panel with responsive, searchable controls.
- Sort by any column in the applicant table to quickly find and prioritize candidates.
Lifecycle Management
- Fixed: We resolved an issue in LM where Profile List date filters could return profiles based on unrelated event types or statuses. The selected date range now applies to the same events selected by the event type and status filters, ensuring that only matching profiles are returned. This provides more accurate Profile List results when searching by event details and dates.

RPT Enhanced Manage Required Committee Form Respondents: Institutions can now better manage committee form requirements with more flexible assignment and completion controls such as the ability to:
- Set a minimum number of required responses from Committee Managers or Committee Members, allowing workflows to progress once the threshold is met.
- Choose respondent type more precisely by assigning forms to either Committee Managers or Committee Members.
- Bulk omit requirements at the case level, reducing manual effort when managing respondents.
These updates reduce delays caused by rigid completion rules and minimize the need for manual intervention, helping cases move through review workflows more efficiently while supporting more flexible participation models (e.g., optional respondents).
Faculty Activity Reporting
- Enhancement: ORCID imports now include co-authors. When importing a publication from ORCID, FAR now includes the co-authors listed on the ORCID record. The importing faculty member is listed first, followed by co-authors in the order provided by ORCID. Co-authors are added as free-text entries and do not enter the co-author verification or accept/reject workflow. This enhancement applies to new imports only; publications imported previously are not updated automatically.

- Citation improvements: We’re improving citation quality in Vita Builder to make citations more accurate and consistent across styles. This work includes aligning citation styles with Citation Style Language standards, improving the display of bibliographic details such as author, publisher and outlet (journal title), and adding stronger regression coverage for commonly used citation styles and record types.
- Easier PubMed imports: We’re making it easier to find and import publications from Medline/PubMed. Faculty will be able to choose whether multiple search criteria are combined using AND or OR, making it easier to narrow searches or find several publications at once. The import results will also support Select all, display the citation type before import, and provide clearer context while reviewing search results.
Dossier
- Fixed: We resolved an issue in Dossier where the My Contacts option was intermittently unavailable or redirected users to Dossier Home instead of opening the My Contacts page. Users can now access their saved contacts through the account options menu as expected. This provides a more reliable way to reach contact information in Dossier.
