Customize Program/Course Groupings

The Program/Course Groupings feature enables institutions to group related courses (e.g. those within an MBA program) for reporting purposes. Originally, all courses are organized according to the academic unit that owns them, so the Program/Course Groupings feature tends to be used to group courses that span multiple academic units (e.g. General Education courses) or to view a specific subset of courses within an academic unit.

Initial Steps

Course Prefixes and Courses must be set up in Faculty Activity Reporting (FAR, Faculty180) before creating program/course groupings. Setting up program/course groupings is a critical step in preparing for accreditation reporting, specifically for AACSB.

To ensure accurate AACSB reports, a grouping for courses and assigned AACSB must be created as the accrediting body in FAR.

Add Program/Course Grouping

  1. Navigate to the Setup page and click Program/Course Groupings under Customize.
  2. Click the Add button at the bottom of the screen to create a new grouping.
    • To edit an existing grouping, click the applicable unit and then click the Pencil (Edit) icon to edit an existing grouping. Click the “X” icon to delete the grouping.
  3. If creating a new or editing an existing grouping, the Program/Course Groupings Form will display. Complete the form and click Save when finished.
    • Required for Accreditation: Check this box to populate a dropdown option where you can select the applicable Accrediting Body, such as AACSB Data.
