Create Collections of Materials

Materials can be organized in a Dossier Account by creating Collections of related materials. These collections can be shared or sent later. For example, create a collection of materials to be used for a specific job application or to gather materials typically used for applying to particular types of positions or fellowships.

 

Create Collections of Materials

  1. Click Collections on the navigation menu.

  2. Click Add Collection.
  3. Enter a Name for the Collection.
  4. Click Add when finished.
  5. Click the Name of the collection to begin adding materials.
  6. Click Add Materials.
    • Click the checkboxes on the Choose Existing tab to select the desired materials from your Dossier account.
    • Select the Collections tab to add materials from other collections created.
    • Select the Add New File tab to upload a new file from the computer.
  7. Click Add when finished.

Add materials from the Materials page

  1. Navigate to your Materials page from the Dossier navigation menu.
  2. Select the checkboxes of one or more files in the list desired to add to a collection. A new button will appear to the right of the page.
  3. Select the desired collection (or create a new one) to add the materials from the Add To dropdown.

Select the tabs below to view more information on different actions to take within a collection.

Add Tags

It may be useful to create and add tags to materials so they are easy to find, to create reminders, or for any other purpose.

 
 

Remove Materials

  1. On the desired Collection page, select the checkboxes of one or more files in the list. A new button will appear to the right of the page.
  2. Click Remove.
  3. Click Yes to confirm your decision.

    When removing materials from a collection, they are not being removed from Dossier. The materials will remain in the list under My Materials and will remain in other collections.

     
 
 

Edit Name/Delete

  1. Click Collections on the navigation menu.
  2. Select Rename or Delete from the Select dropdown adjacent to the desired collection.

Deleting a collection will not remove the materials it contains from your Dossier account.

 
 
 

Share/Receive Feedback

  1. Select a collection on the Collections page
  2. Select Share/Manage Sharing
  3. Begin typing in the name of a person at your institution. A list of users will populate. 
  4. Select the user to share your collection with.
  5. Return to this same screen to revoke access to users you've shared the collection with.
