Release Notes: August 5, 2026
This week’s release includes updates across Faculty Search (FS), Review, Promotion & Tenure (RPT), and Dossier. We improved user management and permission synchronization processes to reduce delays in access updates and ensure administrator permissions are reflected correctly. In FS, we fixed an issue with Position Details Changes report exports. In RPT, we strengthened recusal enforcement to prevent unauthorized bulk actions, resolved several workflow and usability issues, including vita processing failures, case routing errors, and list formatting display problems in Case Reader and PDF exports. In Dossier, we corrected a validation message to provide accurate guidance when adding webpage content.
All Modules
- Fixed: We resolved issues that could delay user-permission updates or leave newly promoted institutional administrators assigned to outdated analytics groups in FS and LM. We improved background processing so user imports, deactivations, and permission changes complete through their appropriate workflows. We also ensure updated administrator permissions are synchronized correctly, restoring expected analytics dashboard access and reducing delays when administrators manage users.
Faculty Search
- Fixed: We resolved an issue in Faculty Search where the Position Details Changes report CSV included data for only one position when multiple positions were selected. We now include change details for every selected position in the downloaded CSV. Single-position exports and the on-screen report remain unchanged, giving administrators a complete export for the positions they select.
Coming Soon
FS Refreshed Position Show Experience: We are modernizing the applicant review experience in FS with a redesigned 'Position Show' page that delivers faster performance and new capabilities such as the ability to:
- Select applicants across multiple pages and take bulk actions (including status changes, archiving, tagging, and emailing) on your full selection at once.
- Search and filter applicants using a redesigned filter panel with responsive, searchable controls.
- Sort by any column in the applicant table to quickly find and prioritize candidates.
Review, Promotion & Tenure
- Fixed: We resolved an issue where recused administrators and committee managers could perform bulk actions on cases from which they had been recused. We now enforce recusal restrictions consistently across individual and bulk actions, including changing statuses and moving cases. This ensures recused users cannot modify cases they are not permitted to manage.

- Fixed: We resolved an issue where a failed attachment could leave a Faculty Activity Reporting vita in Review, Promotion & Tenure permanently marked as processing, disabling the Edit option. We now mark the attachment as failed and release the vita from the processing state so users can edit or regenerate it. The failed attachment is not automatically restored and may still require corrective action before it can be included in the vita.
- Fixed: We resolved an issue in Review, Promotion & Tenure where Institutional Administrators received a "Subject is required" error when attempting to send a case backward from the Case List with the email notification option unchecked. Previously, the Subject field remained required even when no email was being sent, preventing the action from completing. Administrators can now send cases backward from the Case List without being prompted to enter an email subject when the notification option is disabled.
- Fixed: We resolved an issue in Review, Promotion & Tenure where bulleted or numbered lists copied and pasted from web-based editors — such as the online versions of Microsoft Word or Google Docs — appeared blank in the Case Reader and on PDF downloads, even though the content displayed correctly in the form editor at the time of submission. Committee members can now paste bulleted lists from web-based sources and have them render correctly in the Case Reader and downloaded documents. Note: sub-bullets pasted from the online version of Microsoft Word may appear at the same indentation level rather than nested, due to a limitation in how that editor encodes list formatting.

FS Enhanced Manage Required Committee Form Respondents: Institutions can now better manage committee form requirements with more flexible assignment and completion controls such as the ability to:
- Set a minimum number of required responses from Committee Managers or Committee Members, allowing workflows to progress once the threshold is met.
- Choose respondent type more precisely by assigning forms to either Committee Managers or Committee Members.
- Bulk omit requirements at the case level, reducing manual effort when managing respondents.
These updates reduce delays caused by rigid completion rules and minimize the need for manual intervention, helping cases move through review workflows more efficiently while supporting more flexible participation models (e.g., optional respondents).
Dossier
- Fixed: We corrected the validation message shown when a user leaves the Type field unselected while adding a webpage in Dossier. Previously, the Webpage tab incorrectly displayed “Video type is required” instead of “Webpage type is required.” We now provide the correct guidance while preserving the existing upload behavior.
