Release Notes: June 17, 2026

This week’s release includes enhancements and fixes across All Modules, Dossier, Faculty Search (FS), Review, Promotion & Tenure (RPT), and Faculty Activity Reporting (FAR). Across all modules, we removed email click-tracking so outbound emails now contain only direct links and upgraded SFTP security to stronger AWS encryption standards without impacting existing configurations. In Dossier we resolved an issue affecting invoice receipt downloads. In FS, we resolved issues affecting recommendation request email subject lines, incorrect user attribution in activity logs, and case-sensitive applicant search during position closure. In RPT, we introduced a redesigned Case List with improved performance, filtering, and usability. We also resolved issues where candidates saw duplicate responses on packet forms, deleted form responses were missing from reports, cases created from archived templates could not close, workflow actions occurred outside assigned permissions, and character limit errors affected text boxes. In FAR, we resolved issues affecting PDF vita formatting, inconsistent date display in certain sections, missing error details during faculty data uploads, and ORCID account connection, improving accuracy and usability across reporting workflows.

All Modules

  • Enhancement - Email Links: We updated our outbound email configuration to remove email click-tracking. This change means all emails from Interfolio will contain only direct HTTPS links and has no impact on email delivery, bounce notifications, or other email functionality.
  • Enhancement - SFTP Security Policy: Our SFTP security has been upgraded to AWS's TransferSecurityPolicy-2024-01, strengthening supported encryption and SSH security standards. This change does not affect SFTP hostnames, usernames, passwords, SSH keys, folder paths or file processing behavior. Below is the list of the clients that meet this new security level:
Client Minimum Version Recommended Version
FileZilla 3.60.0+ Latest (3.66+)
WinSCP 6.0+ Latest (6.3+)
OpenSSH 8.2+ Latest (9.6+)
Cyberduck 8.0+ Latest (9.0+)
Transmit 5.7+ Latest
PuTTY/PSCP 0.76+ Latest (0.80+)
MobaXterm 21.0+ Latest
Bitvise 9.0+ Latest

Dossier

  • Fixed: We resolved an issue where downloading a paid invoice receipt from the Billing section of Account settings would fail. The download was attempting to retrieve the receipt from the wrong server, causing the request to error out and the file to not download. Users can now successfully download paid invoice receipts from their account billing history.

Faculty Search

  • Fixed: We resolved an issue in FS where recommendation request emails sent to letter writers contained a blank subject line. Recommenders received emails with "No Subject" instead of the expected subject line, causing confusion and negatively affecting the letter request experience. The subject line now appears correctly when recommendation requests are sent from an applicant file within a position.
  • Fixed: We resolved an issue in FS where position activity logs incorrectly attributed automated actions, such as a position being published, to an unrelated user. No unauthorized access occurred; only the displayed attribution in the activity log was incorrect. Position activity logs now correctly show accurate users when actions trigger log submissions.
  • Fixed: We resolved an issue in FS where the applicant search field in the Close Position workflow was case-sensitive, causing searches to return no results when the entered name did not exactly match the stored capitalization. Administrators adding applicants while closing a position can now search by name regardless of capitalization and see the expected results.

Review, Promotion & Tenure

  • Enhancement - New Case List: To match the Templates page, RPT Case List page was redesigned for better performance and usability, with searchable and sortable columns, filters, and layout improvements. The Case List is available with today’s release and the following help articles are updated with the new UI:
  • Fixed: We resolved an issue where Candidates were seeing duplicate answers on their packet forms. There was a bug when the user clicked ‘Return to Packet’ instead of ‘Save Responses’ that resulted in duplicate responses displaying in the Reader. This issue is resolved and answers are appearing once as expected.
  • Fixed: We fixed an issue where deleted Candidate Form responses were not appearing on the RPT Forms report. When a form is deleted, it should no longer be available for use in future templates or cases, but all existing responses in Open or Closed cases should remain available via reporting.
  • Fixed: We resolved a follow up issue with allowing cases to be closed that were created from a now archived template.
  • Fixed: We fixed a follow up issue related to when users could take action outside of their assigned workflow permissions, resulting in incorrect case access and progression. Workflow transitions could occur out of sequence, activity logs did not always reflect the correct order of actions, and in some cases the final case step did not align with the last recorded action.
  • Fixed: We resolved a follow up issue from the last release with character limit errors in RPT text boxes. Text boxes should be working as expected again with a 12k character limit.

Coming Soon

Enhancement - Manage Required Committee Form Respondents: Institutions can now better manage committee form requirements with more flexible assignment and completion controls:

  • Set a minimum number of required responses from Committee Managers or Committee Members, allowing workflows to progress once the threshold is met
  • Choose respondent type more precisely by assigning forms to either Committee Managers or Committee Members
  • Bulk omit requirements at the case level, reducing manual effort when managing respondents

These updates reduce delays caused by rigid completion rules and minimize the need for manual intervention, helping cases move through review workflows more efficiently while supporting more flexible participation models (e.g., optional respondents).

Faculty Activity Reporting

  • Fixed: We resolved an issue in FAR where Vitas exported to PDF did not match their on-screen layout. Sections using the tabular display style were compressed into roughly half the page width in the exported PDF, leaving large unused margins and reducing readability, even though the same Vita displayed correctly in the UI and in Word exports. Tabular sections now render across the full page width in PDF exports, matching the Vita Builder preview. This restores clean, professional formatting for CVs and Vitas shared or submitted as official documents.
  • Fixed: We resolved an issue in FAR where the traditional-date display style did not render correctly in certain Vita sections, such as Post-Graduate Training and Licensures or Certifications. Affected dates appeared as a dash rather than showing the date on the left and the related detail on the right, even though other sections using the same configuration displayed correctly. Dates now render consistently in the traditional-date format across all profile sections, regardless of section type. This ensures accurate, uniform date formatting on generated Vitas.
  • Fixed: We resolved an issue in FAR where faculty uploads at institutions using unique ID (UID) provisioning reported errored records without any accompanying details. Administrators could see that records had failed but received no explanation of what caused the errors, in either the UI or supporting tools. Error details for failed records are now surfaced during faculty upload, helping administrators identify and correct the underlying data issues.
  • Fixed: We resolved an issue in Faculty Activity Reporting where users were unable to connect their accounts to ORCID. Previously, attempting to link an ORCID account returned a 500 error, preventing administrators and faculty members from completing the connection. ORCID accounts now link successfully as expected, allowing users to integrate their ORCID profiles with Faculty Activity Reporting without interruption.

Coming Soon

Enhancement: We're expanding the FAR ORCiD import to bring in coauthors automatically. Previously, importing a publication from ORCiD listed only the importing faculty member as the author, requiring faculty to hand-enter every coauthor, a significant burden for works with long author lists. Coauthors from the ORCiD record will now be imported as part of the scholarly activity, with the faculty member always listed first. Coauthors are added as free-text entries and do not trigger the coauthor verification/accept-reject workflow; this applies to new imports, and works imported before this ships will not be updated.
