Release Notes: May 20, 2026

This week’s release includes updates across Faculty Search (FS), Review, Promotion & Tenure (RPT), and Faculty Activity Reporting (FAR). In FS, we resolved issues that limited filtering by form responses, prevented position creators from retaining access to positions they created, and caused inconsistencies in application counts due to partial record updates. In RPT, we increased character limits in rich text editors to support longer content and fixed an issue where submission timestamps were inconsistent between case views and Reader after form resubmissions. In FAR, we resolved multiple issues affecting reporting and vita generation, including Legacy Vitas getting stuck in a processing state, errors when previewing Activity Input Reports from the homepage, incomplete results when using the Faculty Picker on Ad‑Hoc Reports, and missing Course Titles in Bulk Data Exports. We also added support for an AACSB feature flag and a new clickable link that allows eligible administrators to navigate directly to AACSB 2020 reports.

Faculty Search

  • Fixed: We resolved an issue in FS where the Filter by Form Responses dropdown was capped at 10 options, even when applicants had selected more. Previously, evaluators filtering a position by form responses saw only the first 10 selected responses, which could hide applicants whose answers fell beyond that limit. The dropdown now displays all responses that applicants have actually selected on the form, allowing committees to filter and review the full set of applicant responses for a position.
  • Fixed: We resolved an issue in FS where a Committee Manager who created a new position was not automatically added to the search committee. Previously, this could cause the position to disappear from the creator's Positions list after it moved through approval, leaving them without access to a position they had created themselves. Committee Managers who create a new position are now automatically added to the search committee as a Committee Manager by default, ensuring they retain access throughout the position's lifecycle.
  • Fixed: We strengthened the data accuracy safeguards behind application counts in FS. In rare cases, updates to an application's comments or labels could leave that application partially recorded, causing the application count on the Positions list to differ from what appeared on the position detail page or in reports. We resolved the underlying cause so application records remain complete after edits, and we restored the automated daily check that identifies and resyncs any application missing from the search index. Together, these changes give committees more reliable counts and ensure no applications are left out of position views or reports.

Faculty Activity Reporting

  • Fixed: We resolved an issue where FAR Legacy Vitas were getting stuck in a "Processing" state and failing to generate in certain contexts. With this release, Legacy Vitas will generate successfully as expected.
  • Fixed: We resolved an issue where faculty were unable to preview their Activity Input Report from the homepage. When a report was accessed for the first time via the homepage notification, the year range dropdown appeared empty and clicking Preview returned an error. With this release, the preview will load correctly on first access regardless of how the report is opened.
  • Fixed: We resolved an issue where using the Faculty Picker on an Ad-Hoc Report did not return the full set of selected records. When selecting "All Faculty," the report was only displaying results for active faculty. With this release, the Faculty Picker will correctly include all selected faculty records in the report and export.
  • Fixed: We resolved an issue where Course Titles were not included when performing a Bulk Data Export of the Courses Taught section. With this release, Course Titles will be exported alongside all other course data as expected.

Coming Soon

  • Improved Experience For Downloading Attachments From Exported Legacy Vitas: We are improving the consistency and safety of accessing attachments in exported legacy vitas. No matter what format a legacy vita is exported in (whether as a print version, Word document, PDF, or Web Link) attachment links will now work the same way across the board. If you already have access to your institution, clicking an attachment link in any exported legacy vita will allow you to download the attachment. If you’re not signed in, you’ll simply be prompted to log in first. This ensures that sensitive files are only accessible to the right people, while also making the experience of accessing these attachments more consistent.

Review, Promotion & Tenure

  • Fixed: We resolved an issue where users were encountering character limits in rich text editors across RPT. We have increased the character limit to 20k characters across the board to avoid encountering further issues.
  • Fixed: We fixed an issue where time stamps on Committee Form submissions were different in the case view versus Reader when a user has resubmitted their form responses. Timestamps are resynced and the most updated date/time of submission is represented.

Coming Soon

  • New Case List Page: To match the Templates page, RPT Case List page is being redesigned for better performance and usability, with searchable and sortable columns, filters, and layout improvements. We will schedule Case List in a release after Templates List and update stakeholders here accordingly.
