Initiate RPT Cases from Lifecycle Management Events

Institutional Administrators (IA) of Interfolio's Lifecycle Management (LM) and Review, Promotion & Tenure (RPT) can launch RPT cases from the LM interface. IAs of LM have access to this integration via the Faculty Roster (Faculty page) of LM, and when editing individual faculty events. The connection between LM events and RPT cases is created by initiating cases from LM. This redirects the user into the case creation experience of RPT.

To use this feature, the user must be an Institutional Administrator of both LM and RPT.

  • Exception events can not be cases.
  • Faculty profiles must exist as RPT users.
  • The event must be an upcoming event.
**Do not start that event until you have created the case from LM for that event. If you start the event before you create the case from LM, you will not be able to create the case.**

Initiate RPT Cases from Lifecycle Management Events

1. Open your Faculty roster (list of faculty)

Open the Faculty roster page of LM.

2. Select faculty and click “Initiate Cases”

In LM, select the profile of one or more Faculty that match the criteria to create a case and click on Initiate Cases.

An upcoming event must be created for a faculty member before a case can be created. You will need to create an event for faculty before creating a case.

Exception events cannot become cases.

3. Create Case(s)

Clicking Initiate Cases opens the Create Cases page of RPT. The profiles will appear as the Selected Candidates in Step 1 of the RPT case creation process.

Once you click Initiate Cases that will start the event on the faculty’s timeline.

Continue the process of creating your RPT case(s) by selecting a template. Once the case is saved, the LM event will be associated with the RPT case.

4. Close Case

When an RPT case that was created from an LM event is closed in RPT, the final case status will be sent back to the corresponding event in LM. The event end date will be the close date of the RPT case.
