FAQ

I made changes to my application. How do I save those changes or resubmit?

If changes are made on the Personal Information or Forms page, you must select Update at the bottom of the page to save your changes. Changes made on the Documents page will automatically save. You do not need to resubmit your application. The institution will not be notified of any updates you submit after your initial submission. You may want to consider reaching out to the institution to notify them of any changes you made to your application, especially if the status of the position (shown on the Deliveries page) indicates that the applications are currently being reviewed.

Delete Incomplete Application

  2. Scroll to the bottom and click View all sent deliveries below the Sent Deliveries section.
View all sent deliveries selected below the list of recipients
  3. Click Delete under the Actions column, adjacent to the desired application to withdraw.

An application can only be deleted from the Deliveries page if the applicant has not submitted it. If an applicant starts an application, they will be able to delete it from their Deliveries page regardless of whether the due date has passed or not.

Application Statuses

Once you have submitted your application, please reach out to the hiring institution about any status updates on the position. Interfolio cannot provide that information.

Note that institutions have the ability to make their own position statuses visible. This list does not account for that.

Status Definition
In Progress (Not Yet Submitted) Deliveries that have started, but not yet submitted for final delivery.

Incomplete:

Previously submitted; requirements incomplete

Applications that have been submitted, but the institution has since updated the requirements for the position.

This will cause a completed application to be marked as incomplete with the note: Previously submitted; requirements incomplete. The institution will typically reach out with further instructions if you are required to edit the materials within your application. If an edit option is present (to the right of the list on the Deliveries page), continue adding required materials and making changes to the application. Reach out to the institution if you have any questions about this status.

Complete Applications that have been completed and submitted.
Complete with Pending Letters Applications that have been submitted with pending letter requests. Once the letters have been uploaded by the letter writers, the application will be marked complete.
Preparing to Send Delivery is waiting to be processed and is in the queue to be processed by the fulfillment team. Deliveries take 1-4 days to complete.
Sent The delivery has been completed by Interfolio and sent to the recipient.
Canceled The delivery was canceled, and will not count towards the 50 annual deliveries. Adding that dollar value back into the account as a credit. Any canceled delivery will be credited back. A common reason a delivery is canceled is that a pending letter request was submitted as a letter to another online application system. If there is no letter to send at the time of the request, the delivery will be canceled.
Withdrawn When an applicant has withdrawn their application from a position for which they applied.
Expired The applicant has started the application but has not submitted it and the due date has passed.

FAQs

How can I check the status of my application?

The Institution may send out emails updating applicants on the status of their application or position. Otherwise, reach out directly to the institution to find out more information.

Can I reuse letters and documents for future applications?

Yes. Interfolio will not delete letters from any accounts, even if they expire. If deciding to apply again, renew your Dossier Deliver subscription, and access to sending those letters will be provided again.

Can I collect and store letters before I submit my application?

Absolutely! Feel free to sign up for a Dossier account and collect letters, even before submitting an application. If upgrading to an Interfolio Dossier Deliver account, Interfolio will send alerts on the status of the letters before they are needed. However, it is advised to only send the letters of recommendation after the application has been received by the schools being applied to, or send them as Confidential Letter Uploads to AACOMAS and AADSAS.

Why is the shared document read-only?

If a message appears that a document is read-only, this may mean:

  • The person who shared it does not currently have access to the Dossier sharing feature.
  • Those with access to Dossier through their institution may see this message if they, or the person shared with, no longer has access to the Dossier sharing feature.
  • The document owner should consider upgrading to Dossier Deliver to share and get feedback on all materials.

A school is not appearing in Interfolio's saved destination search results. What should I do next?

Interfolio has saved search results for most osteopathic schools. If a school does not appear when searching, try to search different terms. For example, if searching for Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, try searching:

  • Michigan State
  • MSUCOM

Can I add additional letters to my application?

The institution creates the requirements for the application. If there is no section to add letters, then you must reach out to the institution directly.

Can I save the work I've done on my application without submitting?

If changes are made on the Personal Information or Forms page, you must select Update at the bottom of the page to save your changes. Changes made on the Documents page will automatically save. To return to an application to continue working on it, navigate to Deliveries > Edit. You will the status In Progress on the deliveries page until the application has been submitted.
