Release Notes: July 23, 2026
This week’s release includes updates to Faculty Search (FS) and Review, Promotion & Tenure (RPT). In FS, we resolved issues that prevented Committee Managers from creating new positions and improved the user experience when generating large Aggregated Forms Reports by replacing generic errors with clear guidance to download reports in smaller batches. In RPT, we fixed an issue that could cause committee forms to appear blank after a case advanced to a new workflow step. We also improved administrative messaging by updating references from “Faculty180” to “Faculty Activity Reporting” and correcting support contact information in duplicate account errors. Additionally, we fixed a permissions issue so the option to reopen archived cases is now displayed only to users who have the appropriate access. Finally, we resolved an issue affecting Faculty Activity Reporting vitas included in RPT packets, where delayed background processing caused some vitas to remain in a “Processing” state.
Faculty Search
- Fixed: We resolved an issue in FS where Committee Managers were unable to advance past the initial screen when creating a new position. After clicking "Create," users were unexpectedly redirected back to the same page and could not access the position setup. Committee Managers can now successfully create new positions and proceed directly to the position details page as expected.
- Fixed: We resolved an issue in FS where the Aggregated Forms Report displayed a generic server error or timed out without explanation when a large number of positions were selected. Users now see a clear message indicating that the report is too large to display or download, with guidance to select fewer positions and view results in smaller batches. This replaces the previous unhelpful error experience and helps administrators understand how to proceed.
Coming Soon
FS Refreshed Position Show Experience: We are modernizing the applicant review experience in FS with a redesigned Position Show page that delivers new capabilities and faster performance:
- Select applicants across multiple pages and take bulk actions (including status changes, archiving, tagging, and emailing) on your full selection at once
- Search and filter applicants using a redesigned filter panel with responsive, searchable controls
- Sort by any column in the applicant table to quickly find and prioritize candidates
Review, Promotion & Tenure
- Fixed: We resolved an issue in RPT where committee members would encounter a blank committee form showing only the "Submit Form" and "Save Responses" buttons, with no form questions visible. This occurred when a case advanced to a new workflow step, and the browser retained outdated session data from a prior step, causing the form to load against the wrong committee context. Committee members can now reliably access and complete their committee forms without switching to an alternative browser or a private browsing window.
- Enhancement: We updated an error message in RPT that appears during case creation when a selected candidate does not have a Faculty Activity Reporting vita available. The message previously referenced "Faculty180," which was unclear to users unfamiliar with that name. It now reads "Faculty Activity Reporting," making it easier for administrators to understand and act on the error when creating cases that include a Faculty Activity Reporting vita requirement.
- Enhancement: We updated the contact email address displayed in the error message that appears in RPT when a case cannot be created because a candidate has a duplicate account in the system. The previously referenced message contained an incorrect support email address. It now displays the correct institutional support address, ensuring administrators have accurate contact information when they need assistance resolving the issue.
- Fixed: We resolved an issue in RPT where the "Reopen" option for archived cases was visible to users who did not have permission to reopen cases, and attempting to use it would fail. The option now correctly appears only for users with the appropriate reopen permission, both on the Case Details page and in the Case List bulk actions. This ensures the interface accurately reflects what each user is authorized to do.
- Fixed: We resolved an issue where a backlog of background processing jobs caused Faculty Activity Reporting vitas included in RPT packets to remain in a “Processing” state. On July 17, we deployed a patch that cleared the backlog and completed the delayed jobs, allowing affected vitas to finish generating. We restored access to the generated vitas so users can continue working on their packets.

RPT Enhanced Manage Required Committee Form Respondents: Institutions can now better manage committee form requirements with more flexible assignment and completion controls:
- Set a minimum number of required responses from Committee Managers or Committee Members, allowing workflows to progress once the threshold is met
- Choose respondent type more precisely by assigning forms to either Committee Managers or Committee Members
- Bulk omit requirements at the case level, reducing manual effort when managing respondents
These updates reduce delays caused by rigid completion rules and minimize the need for manual intervention, helping cases move through review workflows more efficiently while supporting more flexible participation models (e.g., optional respondents).
