Managing Institution Settings (Branding and Permissions)
Institutional Administrators can manage settings such as uploading a logo, setting a custom color, and controlling permissions for adding or editing units in the program. This article explains how to customize branding and set unit permissions from the Account Dashboard.
Perfecting Your Platform Logo Display
To update the platform logo, ensure the institution's logo image file is downloaded on your computer. Follow these guidelines to ensure the logo is clear and legible:
- Layout: Horizontal/landscape preferred; square also acceptable
- Type: Transparent .png
- Height: Maximum 50px
- Width: Maximum 400px
- Text Color: Ensure sufficient contrast with the selected background color (e.g., light blue text for a dark blue background). You can enter a color hex code number in the field provided or use the sliders to select a color.
Navigate to Institution Settings
- Navigate to the Institution Settings page from the User Menu dropdown in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. You can customize Branding and set unit management Permissions from this page.
If your institution uses Lifecycle Management (LM) you can access this page from LM Administration > Branding.

Visual Brand: Customize the platform by adding your institution's logo (jpg, png, gif) and updating the header colors in both the product and emails sent from the system.
Logo Size
When uploading an image, ensure the width does not exceed 400px and the height does not exceed 50px. A slightly smaller logo helps emails from Interfolio display content more quickly.

Product Labels: Customize the platform's name, which will update the product labels throughout the navigation menu, emails, and any other areas within the product where the name appears. You can also choose to Reset Branding to the default settings here.
Automated email notifications will reference the original Interfolio Product Labels, not the rebranded names. Additionally, the logo uploaded will not appear on the Faculty Search (FS) landing pages, but position logos can be set by unit from the Administration page.

- On the Permissions tab set whether to allow all users with an administrator role to add and edit units for the institution or limit the permission to Institutional Administrators only.
The selection here sets permissions for FS, RPT, and LM, not FAR.
