Release Notes: December 18, 2025

This release introduces multiple fixes and an enhancement across Interfolio products. In Faculty Search (FS), step names and instructions now display correctly when editing approval steps, and the “Other Reason” field has been removed from position setup for clarity. Unit administrators can access Position Settings without blank pages and manage notifications, comments, and tagging as expected. Users with higher-level permissions can create positions across parent and child units without restrictions. Additionally, Swagger documentation for the bulk delete endpoint has been updated to clarify that it performs a hard delete of faculty profiles and associated data. In Review, Promotion & Tenure (RPT), users can edit Case Review Step deadlines during case creation, breadcrumbs display correctly across pages and documents, and the “select all” checkbox works as intended. In Faculty Activity Reporting (FAR), Vita Builder exports now display consistent data across Word and PDF formats, descriptions excluded from citation output no longer appear, and Contact Information displays correctly regardless of field display settings. In Dossier, address validation has been improved: users outside the U.S., Canada, and Australia can enter location details in a text box without encountering errors.

Faculty Search

  • Fixed: We have resolved an issue where step names and instructions were disappearing from Position and Selection Approval Steps in FS. Previously, when editing a step, the step name appeared briefly but then vanished, making it difficult to view or update step details. This fix ensures that step names and instructions now display correctly when editing, providing a clearer and more reliable editing experience.
  • Fixed: We have removed the “Other Reason” field from the position creation and editing process in FS. Investigation revealed that this field does not save in our database or on the position itself. Removing it prevents confusion and streamlines the position setup process, ensuring a more reliable and accurate workflow.
  • Fixed: We have addressed the issue where the Position Settings page appeared blank for unit administrators. After the fix, unit administrators can now access the page and see all relevant options, enabling them to manage notifications, comments, and tagging as expected.

Please note that, as specified in our support documentation, they can only modify notifications, comments, and tagging; other settings are visible but not editable.

  • Fixed: We have resolved an issue where users with higher-level permissions could encounter restrictions when creating positions across parent and child units. Now, users with the appropriate permissions can create positions at any unit level, regardless of roles assigned in other units, ensuring consistent and expected behavior as outlined in our help documentation.
  • Enhancement: We have updated the Swagger documentation for the DELETE /{tenant_id}/profiles/bulk_delete endpoint to clearly indicate that this operation performs a hard delete of faculty profiles. The title has been updated to ‘Hard Delete Faculty Profiles (Bulk).’ The description now explicitly states:
    • This endpoint performs a hard delete of faculty profiles.
    • Hard delete removes the profile and all associated data, including appointments, ranks, and events.
    • This data cannot be recovered once deleted.

Review, Promotion & Tenure

  • Fixed: We fixed an issue where users were unable to edit Case Review Step deadlines during the case creation process. On step 3 of case creation, the 'Edit Step Due Dates button shows the steps, committee names, and option to add specific step due dates again.
  • Fixed: We fixed an issue where the breadcrumbs in RPT at the top of pages, as well as documents within cases were not displaying as expected. Both areas of breadcrumbs are restored and appear with the appropriate hyperlink coloring.
  • Fixed: We resolved an issue within cases where the ‘select all’ checkbox was not checking all boxes. The ‘select all’ functionality is restored and working as expected.
  • Fixed (Releasing 12/18/2025): We resolved an issue where ZIP file downloads with URL attachments were failing in certain circumstances. When an Administrator downloads a ZIP file of case materials, they will receive and email with a link as well as a task on the home page to download these files.

Faculty Activity Reporting

  • Fixed: We have resolved an issue where descriptions that were not selected to include in the citation output in Vita Builder were still displaying. Now, when descriptions are not selected to display in the citation output, they will not display as expected.
  • Fixed: We have resolved an issue with a discrepancy between Word and PDF exports of the same vita in Vita Builder. Now, regardless of whether a Word or PDF export is selected, all the data displayed on the vita will be included in the exported vita.
  • Fixed: We have resolved an issue where the Contact Information did not include relevant data when the Field Display Option was set to “Field” as opposed to “Field & Label” in a Word export of the vita. Now, regardless of this option is set, the Contact Information section will include relevant data as expected in the Word export of the vita.

Dossier

  • Fixed: We have resolved an issue where Dossier users were being required to select a state, regardless of their selection in the Country field. This caused a validation error when attempting to save their Account Settings, including when verifying their address while submitting an application. With this change, users who choose a country outside of the United States, Canada, and Australia can use a text box to enter their state or applicable location, with a limit of 50 characters. This field will not be required outside of the three countries listed above.
